The Cole Brother's Circus came to Harrisonburg. Sue answered a trivia question on Channel 3 tv and won 8 tickets! A value of $138! GO SUE! So last night Sue, Roger, Tara, Sydney, Trinity and Carl and Thelma went to the Circus. Up to the "Big Top". What an amazing time it was.
Then only negative part was how cold it was. We had reserved seat with back thank goodness, however the seats were metal! Talk about chilly fannies! Poor Thelma who will be 93 this August only wore a sweatshirt cardigan. When we first got there it wasn't that cold but as the evening progressed it got colder and colder. You could even see the performers breath! Everyone was a good sport, and the children didn't even seem to be fazed by the cold.
Watching the eyes of a 3 year old light up,at the sight of the elephants and high wire acts and witnessing your grandchildren riding the pony rides, eating cotton candy, waving laser swords just makes it all worth the effort. Trinty loved the motorcycles riding dual in the ball amazed they didn't crash into each other. They laughed at the clown acts. We were so amused when Trinity was so concerned that the man being shot out of the cannon would go over top of the net. She was so relieved when he actually did land in the net. What a great time we all had. Our only regret was that our other grandchildren lived so far away. We could just see little Sarah, who adores Elephants being there, how excited she would have been! Maybe the next time. These are the times we treasure and hope will remain in our grand children's memories as they do in our children's. Lee said, I remember going to the circus when I was Sydney's age. It brought joy to our hearts. What a wonderful adventure

That sounds wonderful. And you won a contest! Wow. That is pretty impressive. I don't usually win things like that. I'm glad you all got to go and have fun.
ReplyDeleteFun a circus. You should do this every year. Of course you might have to pay next year. Then you could bring all your grand children. Great time for such a wide age group.
